The Ohio Provider Resource Association (OPRA) has announced recipients of their statewide awards presented in October, including two awards for our region. The Kleptz YMCA (Englewood) is the 2018 recipient of the Volunteer Award for their pioneering work with Choices in establishing the first community site for our Fun-Fit program. That program has now expanded to serve more than 150 individuals in Butler, Clark, Greene, Montgomery, Preble and Warren counties. The Y was also recognized in April with a regional Erin Ritchey Memorial Award.
Choices In Community Living is the 2018 recipient of the Community Member of the Year Award, in recognition of our statewide and regional leadership, as well as innovation in providing new service models, such as our Fun-Fit and FunOne programs, our work with self-advocacy groups and our commitment to community partnerships as part of Partners For Community Living.
OPRA is the statewide association of more than 150 service providers working together in such critical areas as addressing the current concerns related to recruiting and retaining Direct Support Professionals.
