Partners Optimist Club

“I am so excited to be the president of Greenemont Optimist. We are going to get involved and help make the community better and to help children in need. I want people to see and to know that people with disabilities care about others and want to help. I do this for others nd from my heart and not for me. And when I do this, I learn more about myself every day.” – Torry Brown, 1st President of the nation’s 1st Optimist Club (Greenemont) and a member of our Choices extended family

Become a member of one of the first Optimists Clubs in the nation led and directed by members with intellectual/developmental disabilities as you learn about the mission and civic commitment of Optimist and make a difference in your community. Become a member of our Partners Optimist Club.

With the support of our officers, all of whom are self-advocates, you will learn leadership skills and become involved as a community volunteer through your Optimists service. Membership is open to individuals with and without intellectual/developmental disabilities in an integrated environment.

The first chartered Optimist Club in the nation, the Greenemont Optimist Club, began in September, 2018, through the partnership of the Greene Optimist Club and Centerville Noon Optimist Club. Our Partners Optimist Club began in 2018, chartered by the Centerville Noon Optimist.
